The Refugee Support Team thanks all of those who stopped by the back table on December Sundays to see the photo of our wonderful Afghani family and dropped off a contribution, or made one on line. The gift cards will allow each of the eleven members of the family to buy something they really need or a recreational item/toy for the kids. The funds for extra groceries will be especially appreciated during the two week break from school where the children receive free breakfast and lunch.
The Hamidis are so grateful for the gifts of UUCP as they settle into their lives in the US. In the near future the UUCP Refugee Team will be supporting additional families who are just arriving, and we are eager to help them feel welcome. So stay tuned for updates.
