Help a refugee family when they arrive in the US: culture, language, shopping, ID cards, education, etc. etc. etc. This is a three-month commitment for a team of 5: each person on the team visits once every other week. UUCP has supported two families this past year (from Afghanistan and Turkey), and we are now recruiting for a summer team and a winter team. It is an incredibly rewarding volunteering experience—because you know that what you are doing will bear fruit and give wings.
