As Unitarian Universalists, we believe in the inherent dignity of every person, justice in human relations, and acceptance of one another. How can we apply our UU values to one of the most essential pieces of ourselves: our bodies? This week, we will explore body positivity as a spiritual practice and find new ways to show ourselves and others the love we deserve.
Let's do something rare at UUCP and talk about Jesus. Not as the Christ, but as a teacher of a profound form of love, one that was radically inclusive, impossibly universal. Love your enemies, really? But if love truly is our doctrine, let's listen to someone who lived it.
This is the week of the summer solstice--the longest day of the year. We will explore this pagan holiday that has special meaning in the heat of the desert. Explore how pagans see the sun as a sign of power and passion as we celebrate the day together.
There is an old joke that the symbol of Unitarian Universalism should be a Question Mark. In this service, bring your questions and curiosities. Rev. Christine will answer as many of them as time allows. We can cover a wide range of topics--from faith/religion/theology, to UUCP, to national and world events, to our own deep questions. Be curious in this improvised, yet meaningful service.
This year, we've covered the proposed new values for our Unitarian Universalist Faith. Come explore what it means that each one has a covenant that calls us to action. How do we put love in the center of all we do to make our faith come alive in the world.
