This year, we've covered the proposed new values for our Unitarian Universalist Faith. Come explore what it means that each one has a covenant that calls us to action. How do we put love in the center of all we do to make our faith come alive in the world.
For all Creatures: Annual Pet Blessing
Our pets bring us humor, joy, comfort and compassion. Let us celebrate all of the animal community with our furry, fuzzy and feathered friends. Bring your pets--or a picture of them--for a blessing and celebration. (Note: this service is a reschedule from the April service and will be in the sanctuary, not outside as has been done the past several years).
Celebration Sunday
What a year we've had! Let's celebrate ALL THE THINGS! We'll celebrate the Circle Game of our lives with several rituals in one service: baby blessings, Coming of Age graduation, our bridging high schoolers, and our new members. We'll also recognize everyone who has volunteered for UUCP this past year to make things happen here. Following the service, there will be food for sale by our anarchist partners. It's going to be a joyful and meaningful Sunday!
What Does Class Have To Do With It? Our UU History
Our faith comes from the merger of two distinct progressive faiths--the Unitarians and Universalists. They merged in 1961, but it probably would have happened much earlier, if not for...class issues. Come learn more about what our denominational predecessors wrestled with--and consider how we may still be wrestling with it today.
Transformation: Changing Ourselves for a Changing World
In the final service on our new UU Values, we conclude with our value of Transformation. We will explore how we evolve, how we are open to change, and how we collectively transform, spiritually and ethically, for our ever-changing world.
Refugee Family Group
This past year, a number of UUCP members have been sponsoring and helping refugee famililes from Afghanistan. Let's learn about what it is like to be a refugee, what we've learned about their resilience and how it relates to our faith as Unitarian Universalists.
