Here is your opportunity to bring good tidings!
The holiday season is challenging for many families at Maryland School, with rents and food costs rising, parents working several jobs, and children hoping for something special in December. Also, because school will be in recess for two weeks, students will not have breakfast and lunches provided at school, so extra food is needed. UUCP has a tradition of extending our compassion and generosity to several Maryland families each year to help make their holiday time one of joy and let them know they are cared for by their community.
We have a marvelous team of volunteers from our congregation who show up at Maryland School every week to volunteer in the garden program or meet with students, helping them with reading and math basics and being a consistent adult friend and mentor for children who need that in their lives. Not all of us are able to do that, so here is your opportunity to participate in our community partnership to support Maryland School by donating gifts, money, or grocery gift cards to families from the school.
We have only a short time to accomplish our mission, so please either:
- Sign up online and let us know how you would like to help
- Visit our table in the back of the Sanctuary on Sunday to sign up or make a donation
Your support this holiday season can make a big difference in the lives of Maryland School families. Thank you!
