New Refugee Support Team of 5-6 members per family, working through Lutheran Social Services, needs two new members to begin support of a refugee family. Commitment is an average of 2 hours/week for at least 3 months: first team hopes to begin in May. Teams will provide cultural navigation, which may include grocery shopping (funds provided), English or computer training, taking children to library or park, setting up a bank account, learning public transportation, etc. There is no financial obligation. Families may be from anywhere in the world.
If you cannot begin until the fall, please contact us anyway so the paperwork can be completed in advance and we can plan new teams for fall or winter.
