The October Navigators species of the month is the Greater Roadrunner. A bird that is synonymous with the Sonoran Desert. You can find these birds all over the greater Phoenix area. Next month will be the Memorial Day weekend campout at SAWUURA (Sierra Ancha Wilderness Unitarian Universalist Association). The dates for our May campout are from Friday May 24-Monday May 27. Our Navigators group has been meeting on Sundays this year and it has been going phenomenally well. Our classes have been working on social justice and outdoor learning. In January, our group learned about accessibility in the outdoors and practiced safe hiking practices. Also our group also learned how to use different types of identification
