About the Framework Project / Journey Into Our Mission Project
In the summer of 2023 the Board of Trustees of UUCP asked the Capacity Building Team to create a mission-based decision-making framework for allocating resources and for assessing our community’s progress in living into our mission. That effort during the 2023-24 program year was called the Framework Project.
Project Objectives
The Framework Project engaged the UUCP community and identified four central themes:
- Ensure that all features of UUCP embody diversity and radical inclusion (intergenerational, theological, socioeconomic, racial, cultural, gender, sexual orientation, ability)
- Ensure that our work at UUCP creates a culture of community building in which we all work to ensure members and stakeholders feel welcome and included in this beloved community.
- Ensure that UUCP provides the skills and the opportunities to experience and practice personal and spiritual development for all ages.
- During the coming year, develop ways for the Congregation to reimagine what “justice centered” means.
It also identified priorities centered on those themes and produced a report to the Board with appendices and recommendations.
Action Plan:
During the 2024-25 program year, UUCP is implementing the action program of the Framework by entering into a Journey into our Mission. This Journey uses the central themes and priorities of the Framework as maps to travel further into our Mission. As part of that process we have two task groups focused on overriding and related issues that are important to everyone:
- Building community – how do we ensure that everyone feels meaningfully connected
- Communication – how do we ensure that everyone knows what is going on and how to participate
We expect this Journey to be inclusive and fun, welcoming all members and friends to travel with us as work on being a spiritual community for our time. Conclusions and recommendations will be shared as they become available.
