Live & Learn is a non profit organization for women that was founded in 2012 to empower women in the Phoenix-metro area. It began as an initiative of the Arizona Foundation for Women and became an independent organization in 2014. Live & Learn continues to grow every year to meet the financial education needs and career training for women in our community.
About Live and Learn
Mission, Vision, & Values: Is to empower women to break the cycle of generational poverty. Our vision is a Maricopa County in which women thrive, strengthening their families and the community. We believe in: pursuing long-term, sustainable solutions to generational problems of poverty and violence; the power of collaboration and community-driven efforts; acceptance of all women, and regardless of her past.
The Program: Live & Learn has offered a two-year Economic Empowerment for Women Program since 2012. This program provides women with a structured pathway to economic self-sufficiency and long-term, sustainable stability.
Goals: Women earn a post-secondary certification or degree in a field with high-employment demand, women begin a career in a field that offers realistic opportunity for further advancement, reduce or end their monthly government assistance.
