Bring your friends and out of town guests for a joyful service about how we learn to live by a spirit of gratitude.  How do we make changes in our attitude from blaming and anger to gratitude and blessing?  Special music offered by Igor Glenn.
 
DECEMBER 2:  THE HOLIDAYS FOR SKEPTICS

What do the ancient celebrations of holidays and holy days mean if the stories no long ring true?  What is the role of ritual, holidays and even spirituality for the non-believer?
 
DECEMBER 9:  LIGHTS OF HOPE; THE WORK OF FAITH

Drawing on the ancient Jewish story of Hanuakkah, we will explore what faith is and what it means for Unitarian Universalists. 
 
DECEMBER 16:   TO LOVE ONE'S NEIGHBOR

Unitarian Universalism draws on the teachings of Judaism and Christianity as a source of our faith.  Both traditions teach us to love our neighbors as ourselves.  Who do these traditions say are our neighbors and how do we learn to live out this teaching?
 
DECEMBER 23:  MULTIGENERATIONAL SOLSTICE SERVICE
Service Leader:  Revs. Susan Frederick-Gray and Linda Lawrence
In the darkest time of the year, ancient celebrations were created to call back the sun to the earth.  Through singing and dancing, we too will do our part to bring to bring joy in this winter season.  
 
Monday, December 24, Christmas Eve Services

5:30 PM Family Service

7:30 PM Lessons and Carols

Spend your Christmas Eve at UUCP.  Both our services will be filled with the singing of carols and the lighting of candles.  The early service will include a children’s play and the later service will include the music of the congregational choir.  There will be a cookie communion in between the services.  Everyone is invited to bring cookies and share in fellowship 6:30-7:30pm.
 
DECEMBER 30: WHEN YOU CAN'T SEE THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL

Why do bad things happen to good people?  We will use the Rev. David Bumbaugh's humorous "take" on the story of Job (The Education of God)  and the lens of process theology to pose answers to this age old question.
