Music Opportunities at UUCP

Congregation Choir

This choir is for adults and high school students who love to sing and have previous choir experience. Being able to read music at least at an elementary level is helpful. We rehearse weekly on Wednesdays from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. We sing at Sunday services 2-3 times per month. We also sing at Christmas Eve services, and we self-produce our annual Cabaret Show. We sing yearly with other UU choirs in the Valley. If you like to sing all kinds of music, Congregation Choir is the place for you. contact Connie Jahrmarkt at musicdirector@phoenixuu.org

Family Choir

Open to all ages, this choir is for people who love to sing and make music in a variety of ways. We meet once a week for rehearsals, for a few weeks at a time, and then sing in an intergenerational Sunday service.  We will schedule two or three of these adventures throughout the church year.  Watch your weekly Compass or monthly Horizons for opportunities to join in, or contact Connie Jahrmarkt at musicdirector@phoenixuu.org or 480-970-8807 for further info.

UUCP Soulful Sundown Band

Guitars, drums, keys, vocals—we would love to have you play in the Soulful Sundown Band! Open to vocalists and instrumentalists with at least four years of experience on their instrument. Ability to read music and chord charts will help in your success in this group. Rehearsals are usually Wednesday evenings. contact Connie Jahrmarkt at musicdirector@phoenixuu.org

Outreach Music Ministry - Jerry Whalin, Leader

Open to singers and instrumentalists who wish to provide outreach to members and friends convalescing in their homes and in care facilities. Rehearses every other Tuesday 7:30-8:30 PM. We will use our musical talents to visit our members and friends convalescing either at home or in a care facility. We will fill the room with beautiful songs to heal the heart. Please contact Jerry Whalin at gerald.whalin@cox.net or 480-990-3097 if you are interested in participating

  • Sound Volunteers - Chris Snyder, leader Adults/youth who set up and run our in house PA for worship services and special events.
