A Brief TImeline of Our Congregation
| 1947 | Thirty-seven people met in a private home in response to an invitation from Isabelle Johnson, church founder. Regular Sunday services and church school began meeting. |
| 1951 | Members of the congregation, through their own labor, constructed the first church building at 800 East Pasadena. |
| 1957 | Permanent minister Dr. Arthur Olsen was called. Congregation outgrew building and moved to Jewish Community Center. |
| 1959 | Property for present church building on Lincoln Drive was purchased. |
| 1961 | First service was held in new building, designed by architect Blaine Drake, student of Frank Lloyd Wright. |
| 1963 | Dr. Olsen left Phoenix to become executive secretary of the Pacific Southwest District, UUA. Dr. Raymond Manker was called to be our minister. |
| 1965 | Separate church school building with five classrooms was constructed. |
| 1969 | John Waddell sculptures "That Which Might Have Been: Birmingham 1963" were received and dedicated. |
| 1990 | Dr. Manker retired. |
| 1991 | Dr. Fritz Hudson was called as our minister. |
| 1998 | Dr. Hudson resigned and accepted a call to the Lincoln, Nebraska, UU church. |
| 1998-2000 | Rev. Linda Bunyard serves as Interim Minister |
| 2000 | Rev. John E. Burciaga was called as our tenth settled minister and joined us on August 1. |
| 2005 | Rev. Burciaga resigned and accepted an interim minister position with the Portsmouth, New Hampshire, UU church. |
| 2005-2007 | Rev. Jean Wahlstrom serves as Interim Minister |
| 2007-2008 | Rev. Roberta Haskin serves as Interim Minister |
| 2008 | Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray is called as our eleventh settled minister and first woman settled minister. |
